NPNA’s Community Navigator & Inclusion Institute offers an array of expert and practical training to organizations and government agencies who share our vision and are working toward full immigrant and refugee inclusion. Our offerings include comprehensive training and technical assistance to organizations and local government, philanthropy, and immigration stakeholders across the country aiming to increase capacities and engagement opportunities for staff and leaders assisting immigrants and refugees in their communities.

Community Navigator Training

Trainees will learn the core tenets of “Community Navigators” and ways to assist immigrants and refugees in accessing vital services – ranging from immigration legal services to healthcare, avoid fraud and be equipped and empowered around resources and opportunities.

40-HOUR OVERVIEW OF IMMIGRATION LAW TRAINING

This course will provide an introduction to immigration law for practitioners new to the field or those looking for a refresher course. This virtual training takes place over six weeks, with approximately 8 to 10 hours of training each week. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certification and can utilize the course for their application to become a Department of Justice (DOJ) Accredited Representative at a DOJ recognized organization.

ADVANCING IMMIGRANT INCLUSION INITIATIVES TRAINING & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

A tailored training for those seeking to advance their knowledge on inclusion policies and programs. Building off more than a decade of experience in the immigrant inclusion space, this training showcases policy case studies, best practices, data on economic impact and much more. Participants will come away with strategies to advance inclusion models at a local and/or state level.
