It’s a historic, far-reaching event to target the Hispanic community
and advance the goal of one million eligible residents becoming U.S. citizens by next year

(Los Angeles, California) – With the goal of mobilizing as many Hispanic eligible residents across the nation to become U.S. citizens by next year, Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE: EVC) has joined the National Partnership for New Americans organization in its campaign “One Million by 2020”.

As a public service initiative, Entravision will sponsor a phone bank event during its prime-time newscasts from coast to coast. The event is scheduled for next Tuesday, July 30th and will be broadcasted in 24 cities across the United States.

For the event, volunteers representing member organizations of the National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) will provide real-time assistance to all callers interested in knowing how to begin the citizenship process and answer questions on how to naturalize.

The“One Million by 2020” campaign aims to ensure that legal permanent residents across the United States become citizens by next year, with the goal of one million or more to be naturalized and registered to vote in the November 2020 elections.

During the newscast, Entravision will also broadcast compelling human-interest stories, showcasing eligible residents from different parts of the nation who recently became or are in the process of becoming citizens. This is an opportunity to motivate others to follow in their footsteps and take advantage of the assistance that NPNA offers. These stories will be presented in all Entravision platforms (television, radio, digital and social media).

Diego Iñiguez, Policy and Campaigns Manager from NPNA, said that “This is an outstanding opportunity and a fundamental strategic alliance for us at NPNA that will help us achieve our goal of mobilizing one million legal permanent residents to become citizens by next year. The platform that Entravision provides will allow our campaign to reach Hispanic communities across the country, and provide positive encouragement for people to start or continue the citizenship process. With this initiative, we are reminding them that we are here to help, and this partnership greatly facilitates getting out our message.”

“Entravision has a long history of discussing and supporting the issues that are important to the Hispanic community in the United States. Becoming a citizen is one of them. We are pleased to be joining the NPNA in this effort and provide our media resources, so our community can get the information and move forward towards citizenship. What’s more compelling here is the fact that, by becoming citizens, they will gain access to the ballot and engage in the full rights of citizenship,” said Luisa Collins, Vice President for News, Social Affairs and Wellness for Entravision.
