Magaly Arteaga was born and raised in Chicago, IL where she currently resides. She graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 2013 and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies with a minor in Latino & Latin American Studies.
Magaly and her two older siblings are first generation children whose parents immigrated from Michoacán, Mexico and settled in a predominantly immigrant neighborhood called Pilsen.
With a passion for helping others in her community, Magaly became involved with the Resurrection Project in 2015 as a Community Navigator. Her involvement with The Resurrection Project brought her to the National Partnership for New Americans in 2017 where she is now the Program & Training Manager.
