Angie Dupree is the Citizenship Coordinator for the Naturalize Now, Houston! Initiative that is focused on training local organizations to build capacity for citizenship programming through Citizenship Community Navigators, partnering with local governments and coordinating strategic communications to promote citizenship to communities across the Greater Houston area. Angie brings years of immigration and non-profit experience with her. In her previous role at a Houston-based organization, BakerRipley, she became a DOJ Accredited Representative where she provided legal representation to refugees in their adjustment of status, DACA recipients and lawful permanent residents becoming US Citizens. Angie was born and raised in Houston, TX where she currently resides. She is a proud Mexican American daughter of immigrant parents. The many stories of her extended family have been the catalyst for her work. She grew up in a mixed status family and became a first-generation college graduate from the University of St. Thomas.
