The New American Youth Leadership Council is an immigrant and refugee youth leadership development program that is geared towards engaging youth ages 15-24 specifically to grow and hone the next generation of leaders through an intersectional organizing, civic engagement, leadership development, higher education and career readiness training program. Currently, there are few programs or career ladders that specifically support immigrant youth to get trained, network and obtain real world experience in the much needed social services fields. For NPNA and our members, the expansion of youth leadership development is imperative to sustain our movement as we continue to advocate for the full inclusion and integration of immigrants, refugees, and all marginalized communities to not only survive but create the conditions where they can thrive in the United States. We believe that we must invest in youth from the communities served by our network organizations, and make a concerted effort to reach and train these youth to achieve their higher education and career goals.
